Drawing from traditional Latina/o iconography and American popular culture, Escobar-Morales presents the death of “The Fat Free Elotera.” This fame-seeking, second generation Latina, human corn on the cob is always looking to be seen. In her latest publicity stunt, The Fat Free Elotera has faked her own death and has returned as Calavera Elotera.

Best known on the Internet for her You Tube appearance in the music video for “Mas Maiz,” The Fat Free Elotera represented her Latino-American urban culture, riding around on her pimped out elotes trike, complete with a sound blasting corn cooler. In a dramatic twist of fate, her death will launch her into a new level of fame and notoriety.

Derivando de la iconografía tradicional Latina/o y de la cultura popular americana, Escobar-Morales presentan la muerte de “La Elotera sin Grasa.” Esta mazorca de maíz humana, Latina de segunda generación, buscadora de fama, siempre está buscando ser tomada en cuenta. En su último truco publicitario, la Elotera sin Grasa ha falsificado su propia muerte y se ha convertido en Calavera Elotera.

Mejor conocida en el Internet por su aparición de You Tube en el video musical para “Mas Maíz,” la Elotera sin Grasa representó su cultura urbana Latino-Americana, paseando en su chuleado triciclo elotes, y terminando con una grabadora-nevera portátil sonando a todo volumen. En un dramático giro del destino, su muerte la lanzará en un nuevo nivel de fama y de notoriedad.
